‘Clean Sweep’ Making A Huge Impact in Central Washington

Pasco, WA – For Mark McKee, every day is like waking up to a new life. “God is good. He’s transformed me and given me a chance to make a difference.

McKee is the founder of the group ‘Clean Sweep’. McKee says when he started Clean Sweep this summer, he had no idea it would grow to 677 members.

“God told me to start cleaning up parts of the Tri-Cities and it’s just grown. Each cleanup date gets bigger and more people to come out. We have a chance to minister to people and make an impact with all sorts of people, it’s been incredible to see the growth,” said McKee.

McKee who’s an electrician in the Tri-Cities says Clean Sweep was born from his own path out of addiction. Substance abuse led to a short incarceration but it also led to a complete transformation.

“God has brought me so many good things. I’m able to make a difference in people’s lives. I’m also mentoring people that are where I once was”

Because of McKee’s commitment to the community, the Hispanic Food Network will join forces to help promote Clean Sweep.

 “We will start promoting the Clean Sweep events and hopefully raise a lot of awareness about Mark’s great works. I’m so happy I was told about how he’s making an impact. Mark is a special guy and deserves the recognition“

On Saturday, the Clean Sweep Team will be out at the King City rest stop near 395 in Pasco. It’ a place that McKee says always needs clean up. They’ve been there 5 times this year and it’s always filled with a lot of debris. “A lot of the truckers will leave trash at the rest stop, so it’s always a lot of work. I encourage everyone to come out and be a part of Clean Sweep,” said McKee.

McKee’s good works haven’t gone unnoticed. Earlier this year, KEPR Action News, the CBS affiliate in Tri-Cities profiled Mark McKee and the Clean Sweep movement. “God knows we need it, work crews haven’t been working much because of COVID and you can’t help but drive from one end to the other and not see trash everywhere.” Mark Mckee to KEPR TV in July of 2020.

Before this final Clean Sweep of the year, it’s given him time to reflect on the big impact Clean Sweep is making. “It’s just amazing how something as simple as cleaning up parts of the city can bring people together, it’s pretty special.

Hispanic Food Network colaborará con Clean Sweep para ayudar a promover la organización, ¡necesitan su ayuda este sábado!
