National Hispanic Heritage Month ~ Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana runs from September 15th to October 15th every year. It is designated to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic people to history, culture, and achievements they have made.
The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period.

- The annual Northwest Arkansas Hispanic Heritage Festival is held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
- The Smithsonian Institution hosts Hispanic Heritage Month events in Washington, D.C.
- LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes museum in Los Angeles.
- The Official Latino Short Film Festival online and on location in New York City.
- The Carnaval De La Cultura Latina is located on Junction Boulevard in Corona, Queens.
- The Hispanic Day Parade in New York.
- The Hispanic Heritage Month at the Children’s Museum in Phoenix, AZ.
- Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the Land of Enchantment at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Las Cruces, NM.
- Canto y Grito at the Dallas Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts & The Latino Cultural Center in Dallas TX.
